Joanne''s house in Hurley
We had a great stay in Hurley, WI, my hometown, with my friend Joanne and her husband Bob. Joanne and her brothers retained their childhood home after their parents died, and it is now a family home away from home when they make their many visits "up north", and they invited us to stay there with them during our visit. Margit stayed in her RV on the property. They have several acres on top of a hill at the edge of town, and it is very pretty and peaceful there. Lots of wildlife come to visit - we saw a couple deer on two different evenings. We had our pasties for dinner on Saturday night, and on Sunday pizza from the Liberty Bell, a restaurant and bar know for their good food. Joanne and Bob drove us on a couple sightseeing tours, including Lake Superior, which is always a favorite of mine. We got an impromptu boat ride on the lake from a couple friends of J & B's. It was a beautiful day, and the lake was as calm as I have ever seen it. We also saw a couple of the local ski areas.
