A day in Ludington, MI 11 miles of local riding

We decided to take a day off today and stayed in Ludington. I took advantage of the off day to get my hair cut and colored. It's been about 7 weeks since I had it done, and if I waited until I got home I would really look scary. Phyllis (my hairstylist), if you're reading this, I don't think you'll have anything to fix, it looks pretty good!!

We rode the couple miles into town and had breakfast this morning at an ice cream parlor/restaurant, then rode a few more blocks to take a look at Lake Michigan. What a beautiful sandy beach. I kicked off my shoes and dipped my feet in the lake. It felt about the temperature of Puget Sound - not quite as cold as Lake Superior, which is so cold it makes your feet and ankles ache.On our way back we stopped at a bike shop and had a little more air put into our bike tires. Then went back to the breakfast place and had a yummy ice cream cone. They make their own ice cream and have about a thousand flavors! I had Macinac Island Fudge. Delicious. Bill had something with caramel in it - his favorite flavor.

I also took a load of laundry to a laundromat two doors down from our motel, so everything is clean for the start of our RV adventure with Margit. She is only 60 miles from us tonight, so she is going to pick us up at the motel tomorrow morning. For the next few days we'll be "riding on" in a different way.

I probably won't send a blog for the next few days.

RV'ing on......
