Short day

Had a rather hair-raising ride for about ten of our first twelve miles today in the fog and mist and still on the same shoulderless road with a lot of traffic. After that though the weather improved and so did the road. Stopped after only 22 miles today, so we didn't make it to Culpeper. Just too tired. So we're here in Orange, VA, a historic little town located in what was the heart of a lot of the Civil War action. We're staying in 180 yr.old house that is now a B & B practically in the middle of the town. Does anybody out there know which US president was born and died here in Orange, VA? We went to a great little museum this afternoon dedicated to him.
It feels good to take a little extra time and do some other interesting things other than biking - like talking to the Visitor Center host about the history of the area and our B & B host about the house, walking down the main street looking at the interesting buildings, etc, and visiting the museum.. Tonight we're going to watch a movie in our "sitting room".

The plan now is for another short 20 mile day tomorrow to Culpeper. We decided to rest by taking two short days of riding rather than a whole day off.

Till next time..........Bye!
